My Star!

My friend Chanelle named a star after me. It is called Tami Ann. It was so thoughtful. The idea is awesome. Also did I mention that it is free. You can go to this website and name a star after someone you know.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Jason and I stayed home to avoid the crowds. It was a wonderful day. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful husband. I love him! He is the best! He gave me a wonderful gift and each gift he wrote something that he loved about me. It was so thoughtful. I made him a card that was a decorated Chinese box with foam fortune cookies. It was cute. I put little sayings in all the fortunes. I also put on the box "I am so fortunate to have you" I also gave him candy and a movie. Then I made him a Chinese theme dinner to candlelight. I made ham fried rice, orange chicken and pot stickers. It was so yummy. Then for the dessert I attempted my first made from scratch cheesecake. It was a white truffle raspberry cheesecake. If you want the recipe go here. It is a copy cat of the Cheesecake Factory Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cheesecake. I was super excited when I took it out of the oven and it did not crack in the middle. Looked great and tasted amazing. Here are some pictures of the card and cheesecake. The one with the card and the candy bowl, Jason won the candy bowl because he had the closest guess for a contest at work :)

The Latest Projects!

I have been working on a few projects lately. My friends and sister-in-law are all having babies so I have been making things for them. It has been a lot of fun. I have made a few for myself but it is for the future. I also have made a Disney baby girl patchwork quilt. It is still in the works. I will post pictures when I am done with that one. I will get to do a lot more projects now that I will have four weeks off of work due to recovering from surgery. That will occupy my time. That is good. So here are some pictures!

This is a quilt that binds itself when you sew it.
My friends and I made magnets one day. Super Fun!
This is a shag quilt, it is a lot of fun to make!

The Events of December and January

Things that we did in December,

Mormon Tabernacle Concert- It was an awesome way to start out the Christmas Season. We got the eighth row at the concert. You could actually see the performers faces. Then we went and saw the Lights at Temple Square. The lights and all the different nativities were very beautiful.

Jazz Game-Our friends invited us to go to the Jazz game with them. We went to Rumbi grill first and then went to the game. Although the Jazz lost, it was still a blast.

Desert Star Playhouse- Jason and I really enjoy going to see the plays at Desert Star. We saw the Miracle of 42nd Street. It was really funny and clever.

Sledding- We went sledding after one of the big storms that we had. It was so much fun. I was going down the hill and I saw this kid in my way so I spun out of control and I ran into another kid and he flew over the top of me. I felt really bad. It had been awhile since I had been sledding. Lots of fun!

Parties- My family had their annual Christmas Eve candlelight dinner. It is one of my favorite traditions. We eat a big turkey dinner, open presents, enjoy each other's company and watch It is a Wonderful Life!(My all time-favorite Christmas movie) Then on Christmas Day, my extended side of my mom's family come over for a party and gift exchange. It was nice to see my cousins that live out of town at the party.
Jason's family had their annual Christmas Day Party. We just eat, talk and open gifts. It was wonderful to get together with the whole family. There is about 30 of us.

Christmas Day-Jason and I had a wonderful Christmas. We got up and opened presents that we gave each other. We mainly gave each other clothes, perfume and cologne, and other little things. We then made biscuits and gravy for breakfast and then we were off to all the family parties. Busy day for us.

New Year's Eve- Jason and I both had the day off, so we went to the Cheesecake factory for lunch. Then we went to wish his friend Mo, a Happy Birthday. Then we went to Jason's family party in Heber. We played Scene it, Liars Dice and Trains. It was a good time. Of course, there was more food to eat. Then we went to my family's party. We played games and talked with each other.

Other News- Jason is on a business trip for two weeks. I am really going to miss him. I hope it goes by fast. Side note: He took the camera and so I don't have pictures to post. I will post them when he gets back.

Well I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Advent Calendar, Christmas Village and Birthday Breakfast!

This year for Christmas, I wanted to do something creative for Jason. Last year I did the twelve days of Christmas, so this year I made him a advent calendar or a Christmas countdown. I wrapped gifts for him to open each day. Inside the gifts are candy, peanuts, a CD,a book..etc. He really liked it. It was a lot of fun to make and see him open his gifts.

This is our Christmas Village. We have fun with it. We found this snow that is cold and looks like real snow. It was awesome!

Alison and Becky both had birthdays in November. We always go to lunch or breakfast to celebrate birthdays. This year we went to Kneaders for breakfast. We got their french toast. Yummy! Also it was fun to celebrate Becky's engagement. She is getting married in April. I am so excited for her. It is always wonderful to have great friends!

Carrie Underwood Concert

This last week, Jeff, Sarah, Jason and I all went to the Carrie Underwood concert. We started out by going to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. That was really yummy. We ran into my sister at the restaurant. Crazy thing is that she ended up sitting in the table right next to us. It was weird because we didn't know that she was going to be there. Then we got to the concert. Little Big Town was the opening act. I had never heard their music but I really liked it. Then Carrie came out. She really puts on a great show. I loved listening to all of her songs. She has so many great hits. It was a blast! Good Times! Side note: Jeff got us the concert tickets for our wedding gift. He was on his mission when we got married so he didn't get us a gift. So he wanted to take us to the concert. Thanks Jeff, the concert was awesome!

Radio Win Again, Country Dancing and Halloween Pictures!

This last week I was listening to the radio at work. They asked, "Where in the body is the deltoid muscle located?" So i decided to call because I knew the answer was the shoulders and I got into the station and won 4 tickets to the Christmas Gift Expo and a $50 gift certificate to a Studio Soiree for dance classes. I was really excited. Jason and I have had the luck on the radio lately, it is so crazy.

Then also the week before Jason and I went dancing to Studio 10 downtown. We have not been dancing since we have been married. It was so much fun. It felt like we were still dating. We have decided that we need to go dancing more often. Another great thing was that night was free admission, added bonus. Prior to dancing we went a got a steamed milk. They are amazing!
So sorry I have slacked on getting pictures posted from Halloween. We decorated Halloween gingerbread house with our friends.
We carve pumpkins for Halloween. Jason's is the face, Phil's is the spider and mine is the haunted house!
Miller Family Halloween Party. My cousin did an amazing job on the decorations for the party.

Harvey Family Halloween Party. My nieces and nephews are having a fun time with the pinata.

My mom and dad had a birthday so I decided to make them cakes. I made my dad an Ipod touch cake and my mom a purple Ipod nano cake. It was really fun. I decided that I am going to make a cake with fondant for the next birthday.
